Creating Texture

Texture - an important quality to bring into a painting to create beautiful backgrounds that appear to move in colour and light. I periodically use gorgeous hand torn Japanese Rice Paper and lovingly paste it to the canvas on which I build the layers of paint to create my imagines. A somewhat painstaking and time consuming process for which I am always thankful I’ve taken the time to achieve.
