I work from found and created photographs and I was captivated by the movement and the sense of freedom/elation/power/depth in this image. I am also a yoga teacher so I can appreciate just how difficult this pose would be, let alone underwater! I particularly love working in backgrounds wet in wet so as to allow the paint to "move" and different colours to intermingle. I feel this lends itself well to underwater images. I was also interested in achieving depth in the movement of the paint layers which can be seen in the detail photograph.  
In this painting I've used high quality artist acrylics and mediums, and a high gloss oil based varnish. As with most of my paintings I personally mount it on an "inbuilt" frame and then paint the painting as the frame and board as one unit. Please note I am not a carpenter - I am an Artist - and I would suggest that you discuss the framing with your preferred framer to ascertain their recommendations on the piece if you are concerned at all. As this is a semi-large piece I recommend hanging it directly from the two D rings that I supply on the back of the painting, not from a wire. I recommend 2 to 4 hooks holding the painting directly to the wall, not from a single wire.
