The original image for this acrylic painting came from a personal photoshoot of my female model underwater. I loved the energy and dynamic pose of the girl looking like she was about to "take off" - and the light gently capturing her face and chest while the rest of her was in shadow. To me the image speaks of transformation - leaving what is past and moving towards a brighter future. The outfit / colours also give Wonder Woman vibes - a sense of "I can do anything" - its very uplifting. I believe that this image is a good reflection of feminine allure and strength.

Using contemporary art techniques I started with a wet-in-wet expressionistic background, allowing the poured, dripped, and splashed paint to bleed and blend to create a moving underwater environment of bright colours. Keeping with a loose purple and yellow palette I also wanted to keep the bright bathing suit of red and blue - resulting in a colourful painting. The figure has been spray painted in using pop art stencilling techniques, and I finished of the painting with lots of overpainting, adding of texture, and further background detail. It's a great demonstration of female empowerment.
When looking for a backdrop to best display this piece it looked amazing and could honestly fit almost every possible scene so long as it could physically fit!
In this painting I've used high quality artist acrylics and mediums. As with most of my paintings I personally mount it on an "inbuilt" frame and then paint the painting as the frame and board as one unit. Feel free to discuss the framing with your preferred framer to ascertain their recommendations on the piece. I will it a wire on this piece before shipping, however as this is a large piece I recommend hanging it directly from the two D rings that I supply on the back of the painting, or from no less than two hooks from the wire. I recommend 2 hooks holding the painting directly to the wall.
